As we pass the halfway mark of the year, I am pleased to share some recent highlights that underscore our commitment to safety, people, and the community around us.
AET was conferred the ‘Commendation Service Award 2024’ by the Singapore Children’s Society for our contributions and volunteering efforts at Sunbeam Place, a gazetted place of safety for vulnerable children. Additionally, 47 of our vessels were awarded the Jones F. Devlin Award for safety, highlighting our dedication to upholding the highest Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) standards across our operations for the benefit of our customers. These awards encourage us to continue striving for excellence in safety and contributing to the communities around our operation.
Building on this momentum, we’re making progress towards generative HSSE culture through comprehensive training programs, including a focus on mental health. I am pleased to share that we have completed comprehensive generative HSSE culture trainings for all sea and shore staff at AET. This holistic approach ensures that we strengthen our safety leadership mindset and maintain a safe and supportive environment for all.
Equally important is nurturing strong bonds within our AET community. We recently organised Family Days in Singapore and London to express our appreciation to our colleague’s families. Their unwavering support is an important pillar to our collective success.
As we continue #deliveringProgress in our energy transition strategy, my team and I attended Posidonia 2024 in Athens to engage with key maritime players and participated in TradeWinds Shipowners Forum. Fellow attendees and industry peers recognised the need for collaboration to support decarbonisation and ensure sufficient capacity for the world’s energy security.
For more insights into our strategic plans and long-term commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles, I invite you to explore our microsite for AET Connects 2023/2024.
Finally, I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to our partners, dedicated staff, and their supportive families for the good progress we have made so far. Together, let’s continue to strive for excellence, uplift our communities, and embrace the opportunities ahead!
Best regards,
Zahid Osman
AET President & CEO
MISC Group Chief Operating Officer
Our President & CEO Zahid Osman, accompanied by colleagues, represented AET at Posidonia 2024 in Athens, joining key maritime industry players at this influential shipping event.
We also participated in the TradeWinds Shipowners Forum at Posidonia 2024, where we explored crucial topics such as sustainability, technological advancements and strategic market navigation.
The forum provided an excellent platform to align our efforts with industry stakeholders, emphasising a collective approach to decarbonising the maritime sector while delivering the world’s current need for energy security.
Our presence at Posidonia 2024 reaffirms our dedication to leading the charge towards a greener, more innovative maritime industry. By collaborating with industry peers, we are poised to navigate the future challenges and opportunities in the maritime sector.
Our colleagues recently enjoyed unforgettable family days in Singapore and London, creating cherished memories and strengthening bonds outside of work.
In Singapore, our colleagues and their families had a fun time at the arcade and were treated to a movie screening of Disney’s latest animated film – Inside Out 2. Meanwhile, in London, our colleagues and their families enjoyed a picturesque picnic amidst the stunning garden designs and vibrant floral displays at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival.
Family days are more than just fun— they are meaningful gestures to deepen connections outside the workplace and show gratitude to our colleagues’ families, whose support is the backbone of our success. We cherish the family spirit and are committed to creating opportunities for our colleagues and their loved ones to connect outside of work.
Here’s to more moments that celebrate the unity and strength of our AET Community!
